Former Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta has successfully undergone surgery for prostate cancer, according to a statement issued by his wife, Prof. Mrs. Angela Ofori-Atta.
“My husband, Ken Ofori-Atta, the former Finance Minister, has undergone the scheduled robotic-assisted radical prostatectomy,” the statement said.
The procedure, aimed at treating prostate cancer, was performed at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, on Friday, June 13.
The statement added that “doctors are pleased with how the procedure went and will now place him on a post-operative regime.”
It noted that Mr. Ofori-Atta is “bearing up well and focused on doing whatever he can to be restored to good health.”
However, the former Minister expressed concern over the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) declaring “a red alert on him,” the statement said.
