Ghanaian comic actor Kalybos, known for his vocal support of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has expressed a preference for the National Democratic Congress (NDC)’s proposed 24-hour economy policy over the NPP’s National Cathedral project.
During a discussion on the Girls Aloud podcast on November 13, 2024, Kalybos was asked to choose between the two initiatives. Despite his NPP loyalty, he stated that the 24-hour economy policy would have greater immediate benefits for the country, especially as the National Cathedral remains under construction.
“Now the cathedral is not being built yet, so I can’t really compare it to the 24-hour economy policy. But if I had to choose, I would go for the 24-hour economy,” Kalybos explained.
Kalybos also addressed how he and his wife handle social media criticism, particularly after their marriage.
“We sit and watch these harsh comments from social media and laugh about it. My wife is not bothered at all because she understands the kind of industry I’m in,” he shared, noting her unwavering support and understanding of his career.
Kalybos gained attention in 2022 for publicly endorsing the NPP and becoming an active campaigner for the party. His recent comments, however, suggest he is open to policies from across the political divide if they benefit the nation.
