Ghanaian actress and movie producer Kafui Danku has publicly endorsed former President John Dramani Mahama and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) ahead of the December 7, 2024 elections.
In an interview with Hitz FM’s Doreen Avio, Danku praised the NDC’s proposal for a 24-hour economy as a vital initiative to create more jobs and address Ghana’s current economic challenges.
“The 24-hour economy is a laudable idea. There’s going to be more jobs in the system. People are idle now; people can’t even feed. There’s going to be more jobs in the system so that we can catch up,” she stated.
Danku also expressed optimism that the NDC’s economic plans would lead to a stronger economy, addressing issues like the high cost of living and the declining exchange rate. “For those who have been unemployed, they are all going to be employed. There will be a very robust economy. Things will get better, and I’m sure this exchange rate matter would be solved eventually, and then the cost of living will be much better than it’s been,” she added.
Her endorsement comes as the NDC continues to campaign, with John Dramani Mahama competing against Vice-President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, New Force Movement leader Nana Kwame Bediako, and Movement for Change leader Alan Kyerematen in the upcoming elections.
