Jürgen Klopp Joins Red Bull as Global Head of Soccer

Legendary manager Jürgen Klopp has been appointed as Red Bull’s global head of soccer, marking his first role since departing Liverpool earlier this year. Klopp will assume the position on January 1, 2025, and will oversee the Red Bull network of clubs, including RB Leipzig, RB Salzburg, and New York Red Bulls.

“I’m thrilled to join Red Bull and contribute to developing incredible football talent,” Klopp stated. “My passion for football remains unwavering, and I’m eager to mentor coaches and management across our clubs.”

Klopp’s role will focus on supporting sports directors in advancing the Red Bull philosophy, scouting top talent, and developing coaches.

Oliver Mintzlaff, Red Bull’s CEO of corporate projects and investments, hailed Klopp’s appointment as “the strongest signing in Red Bull’s soccer history.” He praised Klopp’s exceptional skills, charisma, and influence, expecting him to be a “game changer” for Red Bull’s international soccer involvement.

During his nine-year tenure at Liverpool, Klopp won numerous trophies, including the Premier League, Champions League, FA Cup, FIFA Club World Cup, and UEFA Super League.

Klopp’s contract reportedly includes a clause allowing him to leave for the German national team head coach position, should it become available.
