Indian motographer tours Ghana to spotlight historical landmarks

Ghana has welcomed Indian travel influencer and motographer, Mr Sundeep Gajjar, for a four-day tour of the country’s cultural and historical landmarks.
This forms part of a strategic tourism promotion initiative under the Government’s flagship Black Star Experience.
The Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA), in collaboration with Hooked-On-ENT, welcomed the internationally acclaimed travel influencer for the tour, which began on May 7 and will end on Saturday, May 10, 2025.

It aims to harness the global reach of digital content creators to showcase Ghana’s rich and diverse tourism potential.
At a press briefing in Accra on Thursday, Mrs Efua Houadjeto, the Chief Executive Officer of GTA, said the visit presented a unique opportunity to showcase Ghana’s rich heritage to the world and promote the country as a leading tourism destination.
She said the initiative, also partnered by Arash Motors TVS, was a testament to the GTA’s commitment to modernising Ghana’s tourism
“It also aims at a broader initiative to spotlight Ghana’s rich cultural heritage, natural beauty, and welcoming hospitality to the rest of the world,” she said.

“The Influencer’s content will reach millions of followers worldwide, thereby encouraging international travelers to explore Ghana’s cultural wealth.”
Mr Gajjar, on his part, said coming to Ghana reminded him of India, adding: “I feel at home when I am in Africa, there is a lot of warmth, a lot of connection, a lot of colour, in the people, in the clothes, and in the culture.”
Drawing parallels between India and Ghana’s post-colonial histories, he said: “India was like the big brother to Ghana when you got your independence. We deeply appreciate the freedom we have.”
“The freedom to write, to express ourselves, and even in how we wear our hair. This is something I really admire about Africa.”
He said for 22 years, he had been travelling across the world to capture the soul of countries, and that was what he hoped to do in Ghana.
“To show Ghana to the world through my eyes,” he noted.
Mr Mike Oquaye Jr., former High Commissioner to India and Board member of the Ghana-India Trade Advisory Chamber (GITAC), applauded the visit as a form of “creative diplomacy.”
He said diplomacy was not always about foreign affairs, but about cultural exchanges and people-to-people connections.
“And what a better way to do that than with motorbikes, that excites both the young and old.”
He commended Mr Gajjar and TVS for “binding two great cultures together, from India to Africa and then to Ghana,” and encouraged the motorcycle giant to deepen its investment in Ghana.
“We want you to see Ghana not just as a market but as a production base for the entire continent. Bring one of your factories here to create jobs, develop our technical youth, and deepen our bonds.”

Brand Strategist of Hooked-On-ENT, Ms. Daria Hookfin, and CEO of Arash Motors TVS Ltd, Mr Dharamveer Singh Shekhawat, were present to lend their support to the initiative.
Among the places Mr Gajjar visited were the National Theatre, Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park, W.E.B. Du Bois Centre, Independence Square, Jamestown, and the Art Centre.
On May 9, he visited the Elmina Castle, Kakum National Park, Posuban Shrine, and Hans Cottage Botel.
The Aburi Botanical Garden, Wood Carving Village, Tetteh Quashie Cocoa Farm, Adom Waterfalls, and Hillburi are among the areas he would visit on Saturday, May 10.
Ghana’s celebrated biker, Mr Meek Mill, will join Mr Gajjar as he explores the country and offers the world a front-row seat to Ghana’s unmatched beauty and warmth.
