Ghanaian songstress Efya Nokturnal has reaffirmed her passion for music, describing it as her livelihood and life’s purpose, despite facing pressure from fans urging her to retire.
“I really love what I do; it is my source of livelihood and my purpose. I found my purpose early in life, so sometimes people say I’ve been doing this for a long time, but it’s not long for me. I’m just in my thirties and could do this for thirty more years. When people call me an old geezer, I laugh because I’ve barely scratched the surface of what I want to achieve,” Efya stated, expressing excitement for her future and growth.
Addressing fellow musicians, Efya advised them not to feel pressured by fans questioning why they haven’t won a Grammy Award. “Everyone has their own journey. Fans often make comments to spark conversations, but musicians should be mindful of their responses and avoid taking it personally. The Grammys aren’t going anywhere,” she noted.
With over a decade in the music industry, Efya has solidified her place as one of Ghana’s most celebrated musicians, boasting numerous hit songs to her credit.
