I’ll set a record as the first artiste to leave Lynx and maintain a thriving career – Kuami Eugene

Ghanaian musician Kuami Eugene is confident he will set a new standard by becoming the first artiste to leave Lynx Entertainment and sustain a thriving career.

Richie Mensah in 2021 revealed that musicians who exit the label find the terrain challenging as independent acts because of a lack of structures or professional help. He added that after their departure, some of these artistes try to do everything by themselves.

Kuami Eugene has however revealed that Richie has given him his full support to establish his own record label, with Richie playing a pivotal role as its godfather. He credited his mentor Richie Mensah for his extensive knowledge of the music industry, gained from years of experience.

“I’ve worked with Richie for eight years, and he has allowed me to start something new, with him serving as the godfather of everything,” Kuami Eugene shared.

He highlighted the invaluable lessons he’s gained, saying, “I’ve learned so much from him. Being in the studio with Richie producing has equipped me with production skills, and his deep understanding of the showbiz world is unmatched. He has mentored and groomed many successful artistes.”

Expressing his determination, he added, “Thankfully, I’m working towards being the first Lynx artiste to leave the label without people saying I’ve faded. I’m still learning under Richie’s wings, and he’s guiding me every step of the way.”
