Huge crowd of youth throng Ho Post Office for military enlistment form

Young people continue to swarm the Ho Post Office in the Ho Municipality of the Volta Region in large numbers to buy military form.
The youth within the age restriction, who travelled from different regions including Volta, Greater Accra and Eastern were seen standing at the post office premises, eagerly waiting their turn to purchase the form.
A prospective recruit, who travelled from Greater Accra to buy the form told Ghana News Agency that he was forced to travel to Volta due to the large number of persons at the sale points in Accra.
He was surprised, however, that the same situation existed in Ho, demonstrating that the youth are willing to serve their country in all areas of the economy.

Some other prospective recruits who also spoke with GNA hailed the government for giving them the opportunity to join the military and serve their nation.
They stated that they were passionate about the army and ready to serve and protect the country’s borders —air, land, and sea if given the opportunity.
The late Dr Edward Kofi Omane Boamah, Former Defence Minister announced an ambitious plan to recruit Twelve Thousand (12,000) personnel into the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) over the next three and a half years.
The Minister made the announcement when he took his turn at the Government Accountability Series, where he restated the government’s commitment to a fair and equitable recruitment process.
