Ho Teaching Hospital seeks public help to trace injured Vagrant’s family

The Social Welfare Unit of the Ho Teaching Hospital (HTH) is appealing to the public to help trace Vagrant’s relatives after he was reportedly knocked down by a hit-and-run driver and brought to the facility.

The Hospital’s Public Relations Unit said the man, who appeared mentally challenged, was brought to the Accident and Emergency Unit on October 2, 2025, after the alleged incident occurred on the Akosombo–Juapong main road and has since remained on admission and continues to receive medical attention.

Mr Amos Dzah, the Head of Public Relations at the Hospital, said the patient’s upkeep has so far been supported by benevolent individuals, including staff of the facility.

“We are doing everything possible to sustain his treatment, but it is important that we locate his family to facilitate proper care and support,” he said.

The Hospital described the man as dark in complexion, slim and of average height.

“He is estimated to be around 40 years old, and we urge anyone who may recognise him to assist,” the statement added.

The Social Welfare Unit, efforts to identify him have been unsuccessful, prompting the formal request for public assistance.

“We kindly appeal to the general public to help us trace any relative of this man so we can ensure his welfare,” the Unit noted.

Members of the public with relevant information are encouraged to contact the Social Welfare Unit of the Ho Teaching Hospital on 0543297772.
