Popular Ghanaian Gospel artiste Broda Sammy has shared his unique approach to spreading the gospel, expressing his willingness to perform in drinking spots and nightclubs if invited.
Speaking on TV3’s Showbiz 360, Broda Sammy emphasized that he does not discriminate against who he works with. “I don’t look at people and say they are non-believers, so I won’t work with them. I see them as people. That’s all,” he stated.
Broda Sammy revealed that many churches have denied him the opportunity to perform at their venues, prompting him to focus on alternative locations. “If a drinking spot or a nightclub invites me to perform, I will go. If any secular artiste invites me, I will go. I take the opportunity to spread the word anywhere,” he explained.
He highlighted nightclubs and drinking spots as prime locations for evangelism, as they attract individuals who may not usually attend church. “If I go to church, I know that everyone there is there to listen to the gospel. But those at the nightclubs are not there for such; that is where I go to win souls,” he said.
Criticizing other Christians for their traditional methods, Broda Sammy questioned why Christians can preach in markets but not in nightclubs, advocating for a change in evangelism strategies. “They don’t know how to win souls. Pastors can go to markets to preach, so why can’t they go to drinking spots or nightclubs?”
He concluded by urging fellow Christians to adapt their strategies, noting, “Even the devil has changed his strategy. Why can’t we change our strategy? The clubs where people are going to sin should be the places we should go and conduct praises and worship.”
