The Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC) has issued a clarion call to industries to invest in academic programs that align with their needs. This call was made by Dr. Kwame Baah Nuako, General Manager of GNPC, at the launch of Kumasi Technical University’s 70th anniversary.
According to Dr. Nuako, industries must support the development of programs that produce graduates with the skills and knowledge they require. He emphasized that industries should identify gaps in academic programs and work with universities to fill them.

Dr. Nuako also advised students to choose courses that will equip them with entrepreneurial skills, enabling them to become self-employed after graduation. He stressed that there is no guarantee of jobs after school, and therefore, students must be prepared to create their own opportunities.
The GNPC’s call to action is a timely reminder of the importance of collaboration between industries and academia. By investing in academic programs, industries can ensure that graduates have the skills and knowledge required to drive innovation and growth.
As Kumasi Technical University celebrates its 70th anniversary, this partnership is crucial for shaping the future of education and industry in Ghana. The university has a rich history of producing graduates who have gone on to make significant contributions to the country’s development.
