Global Peace Ambassadors Awards and NGO’s Conference set for December 23

The National Peace Council (NPC), in collaboration with the World Citizens Peace Ambassador for Ghana, will on Tuesday, December 23, 2025, host the Global Peace Ambassadors Awards and NGOs Conference in Accra.

The high-profile event, being held under the patronage of renowned international evangelist, Dr. Lawrence Tetteh, is expected to bring together peace ambassadors, non-governmental organizations, diplomats, corporate executives, and changemakers from across Africa and beyond.

The conference and awards ceremony seek to celebrate individuals and institutions making remarkable contributions to peacebuilding, humanitarian service, and sustainable development.

In a release issued to the Ghana News Agency, on Wednesday, it said this year’s edition would honour both past and present chairpersons of the National Peace Council, as well as other distinguished personalities and organizations whose efforts had strengthened democracy, unity, and national cohesion.

Ambassador Gladys Biney, the World Citizens Peace Ambassador for Ghana and coordinator of the event, said the celebration would go beyond recognizing achievers to promoting a collective global movement for peace and development.

“Peace is the foundation of every nation’s progress, and it is only right that we celebrate the heroes who work daily to sustain it. This event is not just an awards ceremony, it is a movement that calls the world to unite for peace, partnership, and purpose.”

The 2025 Global Peace Ambassadors Awards and NGOs Conference will feature keynote addresses, cultural performances, and networking sessions aimed at strengthening collaboration among peacebuilders, NGOs, corporate leaders, and development partners.

It said special guests and honorees will include government officials, diplomats, faith leaders, media executives, youth advocates, and international peace organizations.

“President of the Republic of Ghana has also been invited as the Special Guest of Honour in recognition of his leadership and commitment to peace and democratic governance.”

The release said the theme for this year’s event reflects a global call to action to recognize peace as a shared responsibility and a core pillar of human progress.

“In a world increasingly challenged by conflict, division, and inequality, the awards and conference aim to serve as a beacon of hope and unity, reaffirming Ghana’s standing as a peaceful and democratic model on the continent.”

The event also seeks to celebrate individuals and organizations that promote peace, development, and humanitarian values, strengthen partnerships between NGOs, corporate bodies, and peace institutions, inspire youth and communities to take leadership roles in peacebuilding, and support the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 16 – Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions.

Ambassador Biney encouraged all peace advocates, organizations, and the public to participate in the “extraordinary experience of celebration, learning, and collaboration.”
