GIFEC welcomed new Acting Deputy Administrator

Mr Samuel Nartey George, the Minister for Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations, has introduced Mrs Nana Akyaa Amoah-Amissah as the new Acting Deputy Administrator of the Ghana Investment Fund for Electronic Communications (GIFEC) in Accra.

Her appointment followed the reassignment of Mr Abdul-Aziz Mohammed, the former Deputy Administrator.

The Minister tasked Mrs Amoah-Amissah to work closely with Mr Sofo Tanko Rashid-Computer, the Acting Administrator, to help achieve the mission and vision of the Fund.

Her appointment marked a continuation of the government’s refined vision to maximise the impact of its initiatives on rural connectivity, digital inclusion, and economic transformation.

Mrs Amoah-Amissah expressed gratitude to the President and the Minister for entrusting her with the role.

She pledged to advance GIFEC’s mandate through close collaboration with the team.

A Senior Technology Executive, Mrs Amoah-Amissah, has over 20 years of experience as a strategist and business operator within financial services, technology, and emerging markets.

She was most recently the Global Director of Business and Product Equity Partnerships and Programmes at Meta, where she worked on promoting fair and inclusive business practices across product development and partnerships.

Before joining Meta, she served in various roles at Google, leading government, education and mobile partnerships in Africa, business development in the UK, and global operations in the US.

In 2020, she became the first Black female Director at WhatsApp, and in 2024, was named a top women leader in San Francisco.

She holds a BA in Economics from Tufts University and an MBA with honours from the University of Oxford.
