Mr Ali Adolf John, Northern Regional Minister, has emphasised that Ghana’s path to a prosperous future depends on the country’s ability to reset her priorities at all levels.
Mr John, who said this whilst addressing the 68th Independence Day celebration in Tamale, emphasised the need to invest in education by equipping young people with digital skills, technical expertise, and entrepreneurial knowledge to help them compete in an ever-evolving world.
He said, “We must prioritise modernising key sectors of our economy including agriculture, trade, and tourism to create jobs and attract investment.”
Mr John also emphasised the importance of protecting the environment through sustainable practices to mitigate the effects of climate change and ensure a clean, green future for the country.
This year’s Independence Anniversary Celebration was held under the theme: “Reflect, Review, and Reset.”
Reflecting on the theme, Mr John emphasised the need to learn from the past, assess the present, and forge ahead with a clear vision for the future.
He acknowledged the country’s current challenges including economic instability and urged the citizenry to unite beyond political affiliations to promote national progress.
He called for peace and stability, saying “Ghana’s strength lies in her diversity. It is essential to foster unity, inclusivity, and respect for all regardless of ethnicity or religion.”
