Ghana must restructure for economic independence – Togbe Kakaklolo

Togbe Kwasinyi Kakaklolo Agyemang V, Dufia of Adidome, has emphasized the need for Ghana to restructure its economy to achieve true independence.
Speaking at the 68th independence anniversary celebration at Adidome in Central Tongu, Togbe Kakaklolo stated that political independence was not enough, and that citizens must work towards economic freedom.
“We must restructure ourselves with the vision of Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, with honesty and selflessness,” Togbe Kakaklolo said. “The country is far behind, and we must work together to reset our path towards development.”
Togbe Kakaklolo commended President John Dramani Mahama’s policies aimed at managing the nation’s resources, noting that these efforts would help reset the country to expected standards.

Mr. Gabriel Adzago, District Coordinating Director, echoed Togbe Kakaklolo’s sentiments, stating that Ghana remained blessed with many resources to assist in national development and earn revenue.
“The day’s celebration calls on everyone to unite and unanimously build the country. The district assembly would also continue to provide necessary support to its residents as the nation grows.”
Mr. Dodzi Addison Mornyuie, Central Tongu constituency Chairman of the National Democratic Congress and representative of Mr. Alexander Hotordze, Central Tongu Member of Parliament, noted that the independence day celebrations marked a glorious milestone for the country.

“It’s necessary that residents of Tongu endeavour to reflect, review, and reset initiatives that would foster development,” Mr. Mornyuie said.
He urged students, traditional leaders, and all relevant stakeholders to embrace various national policies for the country’s success.
The celebration, held on the theme: “Reflect, Review, Reset,” was attended by various traditional leaders, government officials, security personnel, students, and residents.
Cultural performances and drills by the Adidome Senior High Technical School military cadet and school choir added a vibrant touch to the event.
