The Ghana badminton team earned two gold medals and one silver medal in the ongoing 1st African School Games in Algeria.
In the badminton competition, Team Ghana won a string of gold medals, with Adu Moslena Ama Korama and Quarcoo Racheal defeating Nigeria’s Adekunle Feranmi Cynthia and Adekunle Oluwagbotemi Precious.
The mixed double event saw Ghanaâs Adu-Mintah Obapomba and Adu Moslena Ama Korama defeat Nigeriaâs Edun David Damilare and Adekunle Feranmi Cynthia to win gold.
In the boysâ doubles event Algeriaâs Daoud Ayoub Rayan and Keddou Oussama took the gold medal while Ghanaâs Melchizedek Takyi and Adu-Mintah Obapomba settled for silver.
The successes chalked at the games mark a significant achievement and milestone for Ghana, who secured their first medals at the maiden edition of the competition.
This triumph takes Ghanaâs total medal tally to six, underlining the countryâs growing strength across multiple sporting disciplines at the ongoing Games.
With several events still to come, Team Ghana would be aiming to build on this momentum and add more medals to its haul at this yearâs African School Games.
