Mr. Kurt Edwin Simeon Okraku, President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), has expressed condolences to Kumasi Asante Kotoko following the loss of one of its strong followers, Yaw Frimpong, also known as ‘Nana Pooley.’
On Thursday, February 20, 2025, the GFA President paid a visit to Asante Kotoko’s Interim Management Committee and fans’ leadership in Kumasi to express his condolences and support following Nana Pooley’s death.
While expressing his gratitude for the enthusiastic reception, the president sharply condemned the horrible execution of the ardent supporter.
During his visit, Mr. Okraku made an impassioned plea for information to help identify and arrest Nana Pooley’s killer.
He extended his heartfelt condolences and offered words of comfort and encouragement to the grieving family over the untimely demise of the passionate fan.
The visit to the wife and family follows an earlier trip to Asante Kotoko Headquarters in Kumasi, where he held a closed-door meeting with the Interim Management Committee and the leadership of the club’s supporters.
The GFA President’s gesture of support during this difficult time reflects the solidarity and compassion shared by the entire football fraternity.
Mr. Okraku was joined and supported by Ashanti Regional Football Association Executives led by Chairman Osei Tutu Agyemang, GFA Executive Council member Frederick Acheampong, Kotoko IMC top official who also doubles as GFA Executive Council member James Kwasi Appiah, and the supporters’ leadership of Kumasi Asante Kotoko.
