GES Director-General Commends Smooth WASSCE Conduct

The Director-General of the Ghana Education Service (GES), Dr. Eric Nkansah, has expressed satisfaction with the conduct of this year’s West African Senior School Certificate Examinations (WASSCE). During a monitoring visit to the Labone Senior High School examination center, Dr. Nkansah praised examination officials, candidates, and the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) for a seamless and incident-free process.

Accompanied by Greater Accra Regional Director of Education Stephen Abamfo, Dr. Nkansah observed the Integrated Science paper and commended the serene environment at the center. He acknowledged the efforts of supervisors, invigilators, and security personnel in ensuring the examination’s success.

This year’s WASSCE has seen 460,611 candidates from 1,003 schools sit for the examination at 1,000 centers across the country. The examination, which began on August 5, 2024, will conclude on September 20, 2024.

Dr. Nkansah’s positive assessment underscores the GES’s dedication to providing a conducive environment for students to excel. As the examination draws to a close, the GES remains committed to supporting Ghana’s future generations.
