Mahatma Gandhi’s words, “The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others,” perfectly capture the life of Ms. Martha Anabila, whose journey reflects volunteerism and transformative youth empowerment.
For more than a decade, she has dedicated herself to inspiring, mentoring, and creating opportunities for women, girls, and young people across Ghana.
As Founder and Chief Executive Officer of the Martha Inspires Foundation, which she established 10 years ago, Martha has pursued one vision relentlessly — to empower individuals, particularly women and girls, to reach their full potential.
Through her leadership, the foundation has become a beacon of hope, equipping thousands with education, skills training, and economic empowerment. It has supported vulnerable communities with healthcare initiatives, food security programmes, disaster relief efforts, and the provision of school uniforms and learning materials to children in rural areas.
One of its notable achievements is the establishment of a youth centre that offers mentorship, training, a reading clinic, and other educative programmes to nurture the next generation of leaders.
Martha holds a degree in Business Management and a Master’s in Humanitarian Resource Management from the University of Cape Coast, qualifications she has skillfully leveraged to make lasting impact. Her leadership is marked by compassion, humility, and an unwavering commitment to service.
Beyond her foundation work, she is an accomplished writer and mentor, inspiring young people to dream big and pursue excellence. She is the author of “Inspiration for Purpose”, the executive producer and host of “The Reflection Show,” and has received multiple awards, including recognition among the 100 Most Outstanding Female Change-Makers in Ghana (2021), a Humanitarian Citation of Honour, and the Promising Female in Leadership Award from the National Youth Authority.
To the many young people she mentors, Martha is more than a leader — she is a role model. Her authenticity, humility, and ability to listen have endeared her to peers and beneficiaries alike.
Her journey is a testament to the fact that one person’s commitment to volunteerism and empowerment can ripple across generations.
As she continues to chart new paths in youth advocacy, leadership, and social impact, Martha Anabila stands as a shining example of service with heart, vision, and purpose. Her story affirms that true leadership is not measured by titles, but by lives transformed through selfless service.
