Former Deputy Minister appeals to delegates to rally behind him in the upcoming Council of State elections  

Mr. Maxwell Quophy Blagodzi, Former Deputy Regional Minister for Oti and Volta, has appealed to delegates in the upcoming Council of State elections to rally behind him as he is the best candidate to represent the Oti Region.

He is confident that among the eight people contesting in the region, including the incumbent council of state member, Mr Richard Kings Atikpo, Chief Executive officer of Legon Cities Football Club, who have filed their nominations to contest in the upcoming elections.

Mr  Blagodzi, in an interview with the Ghana News Agency, noted that his extensive experience in public service and education had equipped him with a deep understanding of the needs of the region.

He emphasised that his blend of experience, dedication and community engagement made him the best candidate to represent the region at the Council of State.

Mr Blagodzi also highlighted that his tenure in office as deputy minister had marked a commitment to improving the region’s growth and development.

He also noted that he had consistently engaged with community members, listening to their concerns and working collaboratively to find solutions.

“As a former deputy minister, I have been at the forefront of policymaking, advocating for educational reforms and infrastructure development that directly benefit the people of the region,” he stated.

The election schedule for Tuesday, February 11, 2025, Mr Blagodzi stressed that the Oti Region, known for its rich cultural heritage and vibrant communities, deserves a representative who understands its unique challenges and aspirations.
