Examination Coordinator cautions BECE candidates against malpractices

Mr Isaac Kwadwo Kuma, the Berekum East Municipal Examination Coordinator, has cautioned candidates writing this year’s Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) against all forms of examination malpractices.

He reminded the candidates that exams malpractices remained serious offences that could lead to the cancellation of their results and potentially truncating their education and thereby ruin their future career.

In an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA), as the candidates prepared to sit for the 2025 BECE, Mr Kuma also cautioned teachers against the practice aiding the candidates to tackle the exams questions, warning those found culpable would be sanctioned accordingly.

He expressed concern about the growing trend of examination malpractices in the Bono Region, and asked all stakeholders including teachers and parents to help tackle the problem and improve academic performance of students.

Mr Kuma urged the candidates not to be scared by the BECE saying they were just going to be examined on what they had already been taught in school, advising them to tackle the papers in confidence.

He said it was also unacceptable for the candidates to send foreign or unapproved materials to the examination halls.
