Electoral Commission to Hold Daily Media Briefings from December 7

The Electoral Commission (EC) announced that it will hold regular media conferences on Election Day, December 7, 2024, to inform the public about the progress of the elections.
The press conferences are intended to provide timely updates and ensure transparency throughout the electoral process.

The first press conference is scheduled for 9:00 a.m. on December 7, 2024, followed by press conferences at 12:00 p.m., 3:00 p.m., and 6:00 p.m.
Starting at 9:00 p.m., the Commission will hold an additional press conference after receiving the results from different regions. Each session will not last more than 30 minutes.

The Commission has invited journalists with accreditation from the National Assembly Centre to cover these briefings.
The briefings will also be a platform for the Commission to respond to all reports and information coming in from across the country.

This was announced in a statement issued on Thursday, December 5, by the Electoral Commission’s Vice Chairman in charge of operations, Samuel Tettey.
He called on the media and the general public to verify any reports on the elections with the Commission to avoid the spread of unverified information.

He further noted that the Commission remained committed to conducting fair, transparent, credible and peaceful elections and looked forward to working with the media to bring the electoral process to the doorsteps of citizens. For any clarification during this period, the public can contact the Commission on its free number: 0800 324 324.
