Election 2024: I have performed better than Mahama – Bawumia

Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia, the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has emphasized his extensive contributions to the development of northern Ghana, particularly in Chereponi. During a meeting with the chiefs and elders of Chereponi, he contrasted his achievements with the record of his main opponent, former president John Dramani Mahama.

Bawumia challenged Mahama’s track record as president, questioning the significant projects initiated during his tenure in the northern region. “Despite having served as president, John Mahama cannot claim to have initiated any significant projects in Chereponi,” Bawumia asserted.

In highlighting his own accomplishments, Bawumia noted that, even as vice president, he has made a notable impact through various development initiatives in Chereponi. He expressed confidence in his ability to achieve even more if elected president.

“My main opponent in this election, former president John Dramani Mahama, was president before. I have not been president before. I am vice president, but John Mahama cannot point to one project in Chereponi. I can point to many projects as vice president in Chereponi, and if as vice president I have been able to start many things in Chereponi, as president, I will be able to finish many things in Chereponi,” Bawumia stated.

This focus on tangible development projects in Chereponi underscores Bawumia’s commitment to continuing his work and enhancing the region’s growth if he becomes president.
