Election 2024: Dr. Hassan Ayariga warns against prophetic predictions

All People’s Congress flagbearer, Dr. Hassan Ayariga, has issued a strong caution against religious leaders making prophecies about the forthcoming presidential election.

Speaking on the JoyNews Upfront show, Dr. Ayariga voiced concerns about the surge in prophetic declarations regarding election outcomes, highlighting the potential for unrest if these predictions fail to materialize.

Dr. Ayariga emphasized the importance of allowing voters to choose their preferred candidates without the influence of prophetic pronouncements. He urged religious leaders to refrain from making election-related prophecies to ensure a peaceful and unbiased electoral process.

“Many Ghanaians hold their prophets and pastors in high regard, particularly in the critical 2024 election. I appeal to these religious figures to stop prophesying about who will become the next president of Ghana. This election is pivotal.

“If a prophet declares that a specific candidate will win and that prediction does not come to pass, it could lead to chaos. People might claim the results were manipulated, and we want to avoid that.

“We seek a peaceful election without the interference of prophecies from pastors, imams, chiefs, or any other religious leaders. Everyone should be allowed to vote freely, and political leaders should campaign without prophetic distractions. If a candidate wins, it is the will of God; if not, it should not be attributed to any prophetic interference,” he stated.
