Election 2024: Bernard Mornah announces bid for 2024 presidential election with a transformative agenda

Bernard Anbatayela Mornah, former Chairman of the People’s National Convention (PNC), has declared his intention to run for the 2024 presidential election under the party’s banner. At a recent press launch, Mornah unveiled a nine-point agenda aimed at transforming Ghana’s fortunes if he secures the PNC’s Flagbearer position and subsequently wins the presidency.

Drawing inspiration from the leadership of former Presidents Dr. Kwame Nkrumah and Dr. Hilla Liman, Mornah emphasized the need for a new direction in Ghanaian leadership. He expressed a vision for a Ghana that mirrors the principles of Nkrumah’s government, which was characterized by selfless service, industrialization, incorruptibility, and comprehensive development.

“My vision is to create a Ghana where everyone, including the youth and women, can achieve their full potential. We need a new direction that offers clear hope, a new leader who is honest and incorruptible, and a new Ghana that is law-abiding and inclusive,” Mornah stated.

His proposed agenda includes:

  • Creating a food-secured nation and prosperous agro-economy.
  • Ensuring the development of well-skilled, value-driven professionals.
  • Establishing a gold economy.
  • Building an inclusive, healthy society.
  • Promoting prudent economic management with strong fiscal stability.
  • Making industrialization the centerpiece of job creation.
  • Establishing a safe, secure, and well-governed country.
  • Fostering a responsible and respectful nation that upholds the vision of African liberation leaders.
  • Ensuring equitable allocation of revenues and building a well-connected country responsive to current and future needs.

Mornah appealed to the public, saying, “I ask and appeal to you to give the vehicle of Ghana to me to drive. I would lead this country to meet the needs of our people so that the ordinary man and woman is well-fed, clothed, and housed.”
