The Ejura Traditional Council in the Ejura-Sekyeredumasi Municipality, has rented an eight-bedroom apartment for senior police officers posted to the Ashanti North Command of the Ghana Police Service.
The apartment, which consists of four separate two-bedroom self-contained units, would serve as residences for four senior police officers posted to the Command.
It was rented at the cost of GH¢ 200,000.00 for a period of two years.
Barima Osei Hwedie II, the Ejurahene, who handed over the premises to the police command, said, it was important for the public to support the government in providing maximum security for the people in the traditional area.
He said the Council had already constructed an ultra-modern divisional police headquarters at Ejura, and this had necessitated the deployment of additional police personnel to the area.

Barima Osei Hwedie said the rent was the contribution of the Ejura Traditional Council and farmers in the area, to support the police administration to provide the needed security for the people.
He pledged the Council’s commitment to support security and development in the area.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCOP) Mr Jude Cobina, the Ashanti North Regional Police Commander, commended the Ejurahene and the Traditional Council for the support, saying, it had come at the right time.
He called on the police officers to ensure proper maintenance of the facility and re-affirmed the police’s commitment to protecting lives and property in the area.
