EC sets December 30 for rerun of Kpandai parliamentary election

The Electoral Commission (EC) has announced December 30, 2025, for the rerun of the parliamentary election in the Kpandai Constituency.

This follows a ruling by the High Court in Tamale on Monday, November 24, 2025, directing that the election be conducted again within 30 days.

A statement signed by Mr. Fred Tetteh, Deputy Director of Research, Monitoring and Evaluation at the EC, said the decision was also prompted by a formal notification received from the Clerk to Parliament on December 9, 2025, declaring the Kpandai seat vacant.

The notice confirmed the creation of a vacancy in the Membership of Parliament after the court’s directive.

The EC stated that the rerun would involve only the three candidates who contested the 2024 parliamentary election in the constituency, in accordance with the court’s instruction.
