President John Dramani Mahama has appointed Dr Ransford Anertey Abbey, a media personality and sports administrator, as the Acting Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Ghana Cocoa Board (COCOBOD), effective January 21.

His appointment is in accordance with Article 195(1) of the Constitution and Section 12(2) of the Ghane Cocoa Board Act, 1964 (PNDCL 81) pending receipt of the constitutionally required advice of the Board of Ghana Cocoa Board, in consultation with the Public Services Commission.
The President formally congratulated Dr Abbey on his appointment, a letter signed by Dr Callistus Mahama, the Executive Secretary to the President, said on Tuesday.
