Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, the Vice Presidential Candidate for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has cautioned Ghanaians against voting for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the upcoming 2024 elections. Speaking at the launch of the NPP’s Parliamentary Candidate for Asante Akyem North, Hon. Andy Appiah Kubi’s campaign in Agogo, Ashanti Region, Dr. Prempeh claimed that an NDC victory would put key programs such as Free SHS, Teacher Training allowances, and nursing training allowances at risk.
Dr. Prempeh interpreted NDC Flagbearer John Mahama’s promise to review the Free SHS program as a plan to terminate it entirely. He argued that the NPP’s flagship policies are vital for the nation’s educational progress and would be at risk under an NDC administration.
The event was attended by a large crowd of NPP supporters, who heard speeches from various party officials, including Hon. Andy Appiah Kubi, the Member of Parliament for Asante Akyem North. The speakers addressed the broader economic challenges facing the country and highlighted the NPP government’s efforts to mitigate their impact.”
Should that even matter? We need to know what you will do for the country not what your opponent will do. If you know free SHS was really free, why should you fear. Parents are even paying more to schools and teachers than we used to when SHS wasn’t free. It’s a shame!!
