Joseph Osei-Owusu, popularly known as Joe Wise, Ghana’s first deputy speaker of parliament, has voiced his dissatisfaction with the 8th Parliament’s performance. He is annoyed that MPs are becoming involved in pointless issues instead of fulfilling their primary responsibility of passing laws.
Joe Wise specifically drew attention to the 8th Parliament’s poor legislative performance in comparison to its predecessors. He pointed out that MPs are impeding the passage of legislation by giving priority to disagreements about their responsibilities. “In general, I’m upset with the ninth Parliament… “In terms of legislation, we have accomplished very little,” he said on Citi News.
Additionally, Joe Wise bemoaned the House’s lack of cohesion and decorum, where arguments frequently turn violent. He has already expressed concerns on the Parliament’s.
