Corinthians Makes Official Offer to Dutch Striker Memphis Depay

Corinthians has formally proposed a contract to Dutch forward Memphis Depay, who played for Atlético Madrid last season. The club’s management is optimistic about signing Depay, but faces stiff competition from Spanish football clubs.

According to journalist Samir Carvalho, Corinthians’ offer matches or even surpasses the proposal from the Spanish club, which is reportedly offering a salary of around €4.5 million per year. Corinthians’ proposal includes a monthly salary of approximately R$2.5 million, which appeals to Depay.

Depay, 30, boasts an impressive track record in European leagues. During his time at Olympique Lyon, he scored 76 goals and provided 55 assists in 178 games, establishing himself as one of the club’s top players. He also performed well at PSV, scoring 50 goals in 124 matches and contributing 29 assists.

Although his stints at Manchester United and Atlético Madrid were less notable, Depay has maintained his ability to score goals. Now, without a club, Depay presents an attractive option for teams seeking an experienced and skilled forward.

Clubs in Saudi Arabia and Mexico have also expressed interest in Depay, making the competition for his signature intense.
