Committee for National Day of Prayer commends Special Group of Companies

Mr. Elvis Afriyie Ankrah, the Chairman of the National Day of Prayer and Thanksgiving (NDPT) committee, has commended the Special Group of Companies Limited for its generous support towards the celebration of the NDPT.

He said the company’s commitment to promoting national unity and spiritual reflection was worth mentioning, noting that such partnerships were vital to the success of the annual event and the nations as a whole.

The Chairman of the NDPT committee was speaking during a courtesy visit paid by the team, to the management of Special Group of Companies Limited to show appreciation, and formally invite them to the occasion.

The NDPT is designed to bring together Christians, Muslims and other religious groups together for a common purpose, on the theme: “Reflect, Reset, and Renew for National Prosperity.”

The Christian segment of the programme will be held at the forecourt of the State House from 0800 hours to 1000 hours, followed by Muslim prayers at the National Mosque from 1230 hours to 1400 hours.

The event will be held simultaneously in all the 16 administrative regions and 261 districts across the country.

Mr. Ankrah said supporting both the Christian and Muslim activities was no small undertaking such that they were expecting approximately 5,000 attendees for the Christian program and between 1,500 to 2,000 for the Muslim program.

He said as one of the distinguished business leaders in this country, their willingness to support initiatives like this sent a strong signal that the business community was aligned with the President’s vision.

He said their involvement reflected a shared commitment to national development and unity, demonstrating that the private sector played a vital role in advancing the country’s collective aspirations.

The committee chair said the President believed that Ghana is a blessed nation, and that since gaining independence over 67 years ago, Ghana has experienced various forms of governance and now enjoy the stability of the Fourth Republic.

“Despite electoral tensions, we consistently emerge stronger, demonstrating the resilience of our democracy”

“The reason both local and foreign investors are drawn to Ghana is because it stands as an oasis of peace within a largely turbulent sub-region and region,” he stressed.

He said the unity Ghana enjoyed as a nation was an intangible asset, where prosperity and development were not measured by numbers alone, but also by the collective mindset of the people.

Dr. Ernest Ofori Sarpong, the Chief Executive Officer, Special Group of Companies Limited, said the Company was equally honored to be part of the National Day of Prayer and Thanksgiving celebration.

He said the Company agreed to sponsor the celebration in alignment with the President’s vision, as they firmly believed that independence and peace in the Country held profound significance.

Dr. Sarpong said as Ghanaians and as Africans, this day marked a pivotal moment that liberated us from colonial rule and set us on the path of self-determination.

“That is the spirit we seek to uphold, and nothing gives us greater joy than to be part of this celebration. I wish to reaffirm our commitment to stand with you and to contribute towards making July 1, 2025, a truly memorable and meaningful occasion”

“As a company, we are fully prepared to do whatever is necessary to support the President’s vision and the committee’s efforts in advancing this worthy cause,” he stressed.
