Clergy urged to remain as role models for contemporary generation

The Reverend Dennis Sasu, the District Pastor of the South Industrial Estate District of the Church of Pentecost in Sunyani, has urged the clergy to endeavour to remain as role models and to shape the lives of the contemporary generation.

He said the youthful population picked inspirations from the Ministers of the Gospel, saying the actions and inactions of the clergy could either influence the youth and the entire society positively or negatively.

Rev Sasu gave the advice when preaching a sermon at the farewell service in honour of Probational Overseer Wilberforce Manu Osei, held at the Sarfo/Mckeown Assemblies of the Sunyani Central District of the Church of Pentecost in Sunyani.

He urged the clergy to make godliness, righteousness and holiness a hallmark and endeavour to avoid the temptations of living godless lives and unhealthy behaviours that would blaspheme the name of God.

Rev Sasu said: “As the Ministers of God, our lifestyle ought to shine so as to inspire the youth to build on their spirituality by adhering to sound biblical principles, teachings and doctrines,” urging them to demonstrate true love by guarding against greed and selfishness.

He added that: “Our faith must also be visible to all, and remain resolute in times of persecution and trials. We must also pick inspiration from Mckeown by showing genuine love in advancing our ministry and calling.”

Probational Overseer Manu expressed appreciation to the Sarfo/Mckeon Assembly, the Sunyani Area and the entire Church of Pentecost for their support, spiritual guidance, prayer and care, and urged them to continue praying for him and his family.

With their prayers, he said he would be able to fulfil his divine calling and thereby contribute to the spiritual growth and development of the church.

Probational Overseer Manu has been posted to the WaleWale Area of the Church of Pentecost in the Mamprusi West Municipality of the North East Region.

The Sarfo/Mckeown Assemblies groomed and administered his ordination as a deacon before his full-time ministry, after serving the children ministry of the Assemblies.
