CBG donates reading books to four schools in Assorku Essaman

The Consolidated Bank Ghana, (CBG) has launched the “formative reading with CBG” project to help students from rural communities to read widely as part of an academic empowerment programme.
The initiative would help selected communities to have students who would endeared themselves to reading to develop their cognitive abilities to better contribute to the social and economic development of society.
Dr. Naomi Wolali Kwetey, Managing Director of the Bank, assisted by her Deputy Madam Sheila Azuntaba, launched the project at the Assorku Essaman cluster of schools, comprising District Assembly JHS, Catholic Basic A&B and Assorku Model Basic School.
In all, more than 700 reading books were distributed among the schools for onward distribution to the school children.
Dr. Kwetey said, “At the Consolidated Bank Ghana Limited, we recognize the power of education as a catalyst for change, and this donation reflects our broader commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility…a step towards a future where every child has the opportunity to access knowledge and realise their dreams”.
Madam Rita Mame Araba Baidoo, the Headmistress of Assorku District Assembly School, was grateful for the investment in the human resource of the Shama district and Ghana at large.
The clusters of schools lacked ICT facilities to help in modern technology education.
