The Government and People of Burkina Faso have named a major street in the capital, Ouagadougou, after former Ghanaian leader, Jerry John Rawlings.
The naming of the street formed part of the unveiling of the statue and Memorial Park of the late Burkinabe Leader, Captain Thomas Sankara in the capital Ouagadougou.
The late former President Rawlings was a close friend of the late Sankara, who was assassinated in a military coup d’état in 1987.
The naming of the street was witnessed by a Family delegation of former President Rawlings, led by his elder daughter, Dr Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings, Member of Parliament for Korle Klottey and Chairperson of Parliament’s Security and Intelligence Committee.
