Bobrisky released from prison following six-month sentence, throws party

Popular Nigerian socialite Okuneye Idris Olanrewaju, also known as Bobrisky, was seen celebrating at a beachside club with friends and well-wishers shortly after being released from the Kirikiri Correctional Centre. Bobrisky was sentenced to six months in prison for abusing and tampering with the Naira, as ruled by a Federal High Court in Lagos.

The court’s decision, delivered by Justice Abimbola Awogboro on April 12, 2024, emphasized that the sentence was intended to deter others from damaging the Nigerian currency. Bobrisky’s jail term began on March 24, 2024, and was served in a men’s prison despite the socialite’s preference to be identified as a woman.
