Ghana’s Local national team defeated their Togolese counterparts at the Kégué Stadium 2-0 in an international friendly ahead of their double-double against neighbours Nigeria in the 2025 CHAN qualifiers.
Coach Mas-ud Didi Dramani announced a very strong starting line-up comprising goalkeeper Benjamin Asare, Razak Simpson, Stephen Amankona, Joseph Amoah, captain Yakubu Issah and others.
The two times CHAN finalists started the match in a very explosive manner and took the lead just three minutes into the match thanks to Asante Kotoko striker Albert Amoah.
The Galaxies doubled their lead later in the game thanks to captain Yakubu Issah and held it until the end of the game.
They left Ghana for Lomé, ahead of their international friendly against Togo before the African Nations Championship (CHAN) qualifier against Nigeria.
Over thirty (30) players have travelled with the team as coach Mas Ud Didi Dramani aims to assemble a strong squad before the announcement of the final roster for the home and away matches.
The match was indeed very competitive and will no doubt serve as a perfect test for both teams to test their mettle ahead of the upcoming missions.
The Black Galaxies will host arch-rivals Nigeria in the qualifiers. The first leg is scheduled for December 22 at the Accra Sports Stadium while the second leg will be on December 28 at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo.
