Bishop Salifu Amoako, the General Overseer of Alive Chapel International, has publicly apologized to the families of the two young girls who lost their lives in a tragic accident caused by his 16-year-old son, Elrad Salifu Amoako. In a heartfelt video shared on social media, Bishop Amoako is seen kneeling and pleading for forgiveness, visibly shaken by the incident.
“I am devastated, and no amount of words can reverse this tragic and horrible incident,” he said. “I have cried so much… But all that I’m asking is that may God console your families, may God give you strength to heal in these trying moments.” He also appealed to all Ghanaians to join him in pleading for forgiveness from the affected families.
This apology comes after Bishop Amoako and his wife were granted bail by an Accra Circuit Court on Wednesday, following their arrest to assist in the investigation. The court set their bail at GH¢50,000 with two sureties each.
The accident has sent shockwaves through the community, and the bishop’s apology is a step towards healing and reconciliation. As he rightly said, “No amount of words can reverse this tragic and horrible incident,” but his gesture of humility and remorse is a significant move towards making amends.
