Berekum-Nyamebekyere residents call for intensified night patrols as police pick up lifeless body

Residents of Nyamebekyere in the Berekum Municipality have called for improved police visibility and intensified night patrols.
The call follows the discovery of a lifeless body of a man within his 40s in the area.
During a visit, the residents told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) that they found the lifeless body lying prostrate behind the Church of Pentecost building in the area, with blood stains in the early hours of Sunday, August 17, 2025.
The police had picked up the body, as investigations continued. No arrest had been made so far.
The residents told the GNA that they were disturbed about the incident, and urged the police to intensify night patrols in the area.

Some of them who identified the deceased said he (deceased) was a native of Jinijini in the Berekum West District and resided at Ahenbornoso in the Municipality.
