Mr Williams Owusu Acheaw, a Senior Monitoring and Evaluation Officer at the Bono Regional Office of the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA), has commended the government for paying the accumulated claims of service providers.
He said the payment of the claims had brought hope to the NHIA, assuring that the authority would also work hard to improve enrolment too.
Speaking in an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in Berekum, Mr Acheaw also commended Elder Simon Ampaabeng Kyeremeh, the Member of Parliament for Berekum East Constituency for his support towards the construction of a new office for the NHIA in Berekum.
He explained that the Ministry of Health was putting up the facility, expected to be completed within a period of eight months, saying, the Berekum office had been relocated to the Berekum Municipal Assembly building.
Mr Acheaw urged the service providers to provide quality services to clients, and warned them against the unacceptable practice of collecting illegal fees or co-payments.
