Trent Alexander-Arnold Breaks Silence on Liverpool Contract Situation
Trent Alexander-Arnold has been mum about his contract situation at Liverpool, with Real Madrid showing a strong interest in signing the Reds vice-captain on a free transfer next summer.
Alexander-Arnold, team captain Virgil van Dijk and Mohamed Salah are all out of contract at the end of the current season. They can sign pre-contracts with any foreign club from January 1.
Both Van Dijk and Salah have publicly stated their desire to stay at Anfield, but Alexander-Arnold has remained quiet so far and does not want discussions about his future to be made public out of respect for the club.
Liverpool have offered all three players new contracts and negotiations are said to be ongoing with their representatives. The Reds have received a strong new indication that Alexander-Arnold would be happy to sign a new contract at Anfield and ignore Real Madrid’s free transfer.
Speaking to Sky Sports about his contract situation with Liverpool, the Englishman said: “I’ve been at the club for 20 years now, I’ve signed four or five contract extensions and none of them have been publicly revealed – and that’s it. It won’t be.
Alexander-Arnold is regarded as one of the best right-backs in the world after his impressive performances for Liverpool in recent seasons. He helped the club win several titles, including the Premier League and the Champions League.
