Ayariga Unveils APC Manifesto, Promises GH¢5,000 Minimum Salary

Hassan Ayariga, the Presidential Candidate of the All People’s Congress (APC), has launched his manifesto, dubbed the Nation’s Manifesto, with a promise to transform Ghana and restore hope. At the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA) Auditorium, Ayariga outlined his vision for Ghana’s future, including a significant increase in the minimum salary to GH¢5,000.

Ayariga’s manifesto promises a bi-weekly salary system, where workers will be paid every two weeks instead of monthly. He also plans to increase the minimum wage from GH¢18 to between GH¢150 and GH¢300, acknowledging that current salaries are appalling and cannot meet basic needs.

The APC vice-presidential candidate, Samuel Worlanyo Mensah, claimed that the 24-hour economy initiative was stolen from the APC by the National Democratic Congress (NDC). Mensah stated that the APC introduced this policy in 2016.

Additionally, the APC has criticized the government’s “Gold for Oil” initiative, labeling it a “scam” that benefits a few individuals at the expense of the country. The APC promises to cancel this policy if elected in 2024.
