Mr. Kofi Adu Domfeh, News Editor of Luv/Nhyira FM and a candidate for the Ashanti Regional Chair position of the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA), has pledged to uphold professional integrity, ethical journalism and accountability if elected.
Speaking in an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA), Mr. Domfeh emphasised that these three pillars—integrity, ethical practice and accountability- are essential to safeguarding the dignity and collective welfare of journalists in the region.
He is contesting the position against Mrs. Georgina Ama Ankumah of the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC).
Mr. Domfeh acknowledged the challenges faced by journalists over the years but maintained that the profession continues to play a vital role in national development and deserves strong, visionary leadership.
He stressed the importance of strategic planning and effective management to streamline operational standards in the media industry, ensuring both the well-being of practitioners and the reputation of the profession.
Commending journalists and media personnel for their continuous commitment to ethical and professional standards, he urged them to stay on the course and avoid actions that could undermine public trust.
“The ethical and legal demands of every profession are paramount,” he said, describing the current operational challenges in the industry as temporary obstacles on the path to lasting success.
Mr. Domfeh appealed to GJA members in the Ashanti Region to support his vision and vote for him, assuring them of positive transformation and shared benefits soon.
