The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, defended Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh (NAPO) while addressing chiefs and dignitaries at the Manhyia Palace. The Asantehene, who is related to NAPO, refuted allegations of arrogance and disrespect directed at the New Patriotic Party’s vice-presidential candidate. “The NAPO I raised was never arrogant,” he stated.

However, he urged NAPO to be mindful of public perception. “I have heard people call you arrogant, but I never saw that in you. Why is this being said now? I will stand by you, but ensure these claims are unfounded,” the Asantehene remarked in Twi.

This presentation at Manhyia Palace occurred ahead of NAPO’s official unveiling as the NPP’s vice-presidential candidate at Kumasi Jubilee Park.
