This Christmas, Arnold Schwarzenegger, the iconic movie star and former governor of California, is embracing a new role. The Hollywood legend is set to play Santa Claus in the upcoming holiday film “The Man with the Bag.”
“Santa Claus is coming to town!” Schwarzenegger announced on Instagram on Tuesday. “I can’t wait to share all of this Christmas cheer with each and every one of you.”
The actor shared a photo from the set in New York City, posing alongside his co-star Alan Ritchson. In the photo, Schwarzenegger sports a shaggy white beard, a festive red wool coat, and a Christmas sweater, fully embodying his new character.
Directed by Adam Shankman, “The Man with the Bag” follows Santa Claus as he recruits a former thief from his naughty list to help recover his stolen magic bag.
Schwarzenegger’s holiday filmography is not new to festive themes. In 1996, he starred in the beloved family comedy “Jingle All the Way,” where he hilariously portrayed a father’s frantic quest to find a coveted Christmas toy for his son.
This new venture promises to bring Schwarzenegger’s unique charm and energy to holiday entertainment once again.
