The Bible Society of Ghana (BSG) has inducted Archbishop Dr. Charles Agyinasare as its new President, marking a significant milestone in the organization’s history. He takes over from Apostle Prof. Opoku Onyinah, whose tenure ended in August.
The induction ceremony, held at the Perez Chapel International in Accra, introduced Archbishop Agyinasare as the first Charismatic Church leader to hold the position. He was joined by new Council and Committee members, who will work together to advance the society’s goals.
Archbishop Agyinasare expressed his gratitude for the trust placed in him and pledged to lead with integrity, faith, and dedication. He emphasized the need for stronger collaboration among churches, institutions, and groups to translate the Bible into more languages and build a self-sustaining Bible society.
The Moderator of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, Rt Rev. Dr. Abraham Nana Opare Kwakye, commended the BSG for appointing Archbishop Agyinasare, describing it as a step towards integrating charismatic leaders into the broader history of Christianity in the country.
The event was attended by church leaders, dignitaries, and well-wishers, marking the society’s mission to spread the Word of God across the country. The BSG has translated the Bible into eight Ghanaian languages and aims to make God’s word available and affordable to transform lives.
