Presidential candidate for the Movement for Change, Alan John Kwadwo Kyerematen, has publicly questioned the motives of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and National Democratic Congress (NDC) in seeking another term in office. He argues that after 32 years of combined rule, these parties have failed to deliver meaningful development to Ghanaians and have instead crippled the economy.
Speaking at the Palace of Drobonsohene Nana Dwamena Dankwa Dwobisaw II in Drobonso, Ashanti Region, Alan Kyerematen challenged the NPP and NDC to provide proof of their accomplishments and justify why they deserve another four-year term. He wondered aloud what new initiatives these parties could possibly offer, having failed to deliver during their 32 years in power.
Kyerematen’s comments were met with enthusiasm from the local community, particularly among young people. During his 19-day tour of the Ashanti Region, he received widespread support, with many Ghanaians expressing disappointment in the current Akufo Addo, Bawumia government. Some have even stated that they would abstain from voting if the NPP or NDC were the only options, but would cast their ballots if Alan Kyerematen were on the ballot.
