Mr. Seth Asare Bediako, the Ahafo Regional Director of the Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET), on Wednesday called on the go government to improve physical infrastructure in the two private TVET schools in the region.
He said the region had 12 TVET schools including the private ones. However, the infrastructure condition of the private schools was very appalling, impeding serious theoretical and practical studies.
In an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in Sunyani, Mr. Bediako said the Certificate Two Examination for the TVET schools had commenced, progressing steadily in the region.
Nonetheless, he added that the poor state of, and inadequate classrooms and workshops were affecting the examination in the private schools.
Mr. Bediako noted that TVET education remained the key to tackling the nation’s rising graduate unemployment situation, saying with the TVET, the graduates with little push could directly establish their shops and even create employment opportunities for others too.
