The Ahafo Regional Minister, Hon. George Yaw Boakye, has praised the Ministry of Transport for introducing the National Electric Vehicle Policy in Ghana. Speaking at a stakeholders’ meeting in Goaso, Ahafo Region, Boakye emphasized the significance of embracing electric vehicles as the world shifts towards sustainable transportation.
“The government’s initiative to introduce electric vehicles is a commendable effort,” Boakye said. “Vehicle emissions pose a substantial threat to human health and the environment, and this policy will help mitigate those risks.”
Boakye highlighted the importance of the transport sector, which he noted is crucial for Ghana’s economic and social development. He encouraged Ghanaians to support the policy, citing its potential to simplify transportation and drive economic growth.
Nana Appiah Kubi, the Dikro of Goaso Yaw Krakrom, also expressed his support for the initiative, praising the government and the Ministry of Transport for their vision.
The stakeholders’ meeting aimed to disseminate the National Transport Policy and the National Electric Vehicle Policy, gathering feedback from key stakeholders in the region.
