Ahafo Ano South West Assembly Members Condemn NPP Parliamentary Candidate for Claiming Government Project

A group of Assembly members in the Ahafo Ano South West Municipality have accused the NPP parliamentary candidate, Elvis Osei Mensah Dapaah, of falsely claiming credit for a government-funded project. They allege that Dapaah has inscribed his name on dual desks purchased with the government’s Common Fund, presenting it as his personal achievement.

The Assembly members are upset that the District Chief Executive, Joseph Frimpong Bonsu, allowed this to happen and have demanded that the inscription be removed. Despite the DCE’s promise to rectify the situation, the name remains, fueling suspicions about the motive behind the action.

The Assembly members question why the sitting MP was not credited instead, leading them to believe this was a deliberate move. They have given the DCE a one-week ultimatum to remove the name or face further action, threatening to “show their real character” if their demand is not met.

This development has sparked tension in the local political scene, with both the NPP and the Assembly members bracing for a potential rift ahead of the upcoming elections.
